A Second Life For This Tree

Hi, my name is Corymbia.

I was 35 years old when my sap stopped flowing. I used to be a buitiful spotted gum tree in the aussie bush. I was pushed down to make room for a fenceline.

I know some of you are sad about that. But please dont be. Hear my story out!

Over my 35 years I became a mother to thousands of healthy saplings and because of a very special person I know they will grow strong for decades to come.

Some of my friends and I were pushed down to make way for a stock fence that separates my beautiful friends from livestock. That meant that hundreds of acres were now protected to foster native animals and trees just like me and people still had land to raise stock away from us. So, I am kind of a hero, you could say.

I slept for many years, until one day this girl came along. She saw even further potential in me. Looking back now, I can see she had a plan for me all those years while I was resting.

So, my second life began…

Yes, I am still beautiful but that’s not the only reason why I am here. I am super useful to. I can help you to relax when your aching legs just need a break. I can hold your cup of tea, when you are lounging on the couch. I love holding magazines, candles and soaps that I know you need at an arm’s reach. I hold your clothes that are not yet ready to be washed. I am a colouring station for little people who can’t seem to sit still. I am the conversation starter when your friends walk into the room. If you take of me, I could be around for your grandchildren to enjoy. I don’t take up much space and when you look at my warm colours and dazzling lines you will be instantly relaxed.

I am not just another log. I am a Lazy Logz!
